Through a little blood, sweat and tears, I have created my own digital portfolio :)! I started out a while ago trying to use live binders for this purpose. I am glad to see some of you used this tool with success, however I somehow did something wrong and the information I tried to save there didn't stay where I wanted it to. I'm not sure what happened, but I will eventually go back (when I'm calmer) and try to figure it out.  In the meantime, as I was trying to find a tool that I could figure out, I came across a tool called portaportals. This is really working well for me because I have found a simple way to keep track of all the web resources and materials that, in the past, I have written on bits of paper, only to lose. At this point I am still using it only for my own purposes but I hope that as I become more experienced in using this tool that I can use it with students, parents and other staff. Therefore I am adding sites that will eventually be used by others. The downside of this tool is that in order to save folders I have to upgrade from basic at a cost. While it is not a huge cost ($15), it is still more that I can do at this time, so for now I am using it as a web resource.

The platform for this portfolio is great because it is easy to use and a valuable tool for organizing all my webpages. I an able to keep track of information that I can use to help students expand on their 21st century skills with links to a many resources. This tool enables me to download information in one easy step and reference a large number of sites with excellent information. I can even keep a tab open to add new sites to as I am working.(a new skill I'm learning)

My Portaportal contains a variety of web links for teacher resources in all subject areas, digital citizenship, CCSS and important Manchester BOE connections. It also has links to math, language arts, kids educational games and homework help. These resources will allow me to easily connect to information that will enhance my ability to add enriched materials to my lesson plans and to the classroom in general. Everyday I seem to find a new site that has exciting information and look forward to adding these to my portfolio.

I believe that this tool will enable me to feel more confident in using the internet resources that are available to me. It will provide me with an easy way to find resources that help me to take my lesson planning to the next level and add more technology based ideas into my lesson plans. It also gives me quick links to CCSS so that I can easily incorporate those standards into my daily lessons. This connection will be vital to helping create the rigor involved in 21st century skills. I am excited to get to the place where I will be able to share information I have accumulated with my students and their parents as a way to help them with ideas and concepts, especially in math that they may struggle with when doing homework. I also want to give parents a resource for information such as understanding digital elements and connecting these ideas in conversation with their children.
